These Terms & Conditions apply to all courses delivered by Bourne Beauty Education and Training, whether booked online, in person, by telephone, email, social media, messaging services or any other method.

 

By paying a booking fee or course fee, you are entering into a legally binding agreement with Bourne Beauty Education and Training and confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions in full.

 

These Terms & Conditions have been created to protect both the student and Bourne Beauty Education and Training and to ensure that every student receives a professional, safe and enjoyable learning experience.

 

1. Booking Your Course

 

A 50% non-refundable and non-transferable booking fee is required to secure your chosen training date.

 

Your place is not confirmed until your booking fee has been received.

 

The remaining balance must be paid on or before the day of your course unless otherwise agreed.

 

2. Booking Fees

 

Your booking fee reserves an exclusive 1:2:1 training date, which is unavailable for any other student.

 

As a result:

• Booking fees are strictly non-refundable.

• Booking fees are strictly non-transferable.

• Booking fees cannot be transferred to another person or another course.

• If you cancel your course for any reason, your booking fee will be forfeited.

• If you fail to attend your course, your booking fee will be forfeited.

• If you decide not to continue with your booking, no refund will be given.

Please ensure you are able to attend before confirming your booking.

3. Booking Online

 

If you purchase a 1:2:1 Accredited Training Course through the website, please contact Bourne Beauty Education and Training before purchasing to arrange a suitable training date.

 

Training days are:

• Sunday

• Monday

• Tuesday

Training dates are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

 

4. Rescheduling

 

If exceptional circumstances prevent you from attending your course, please contact Bourne Beauty Education and Training as soon as possible.

 

Any decision to reschedule your course is entirely at the discretion of Bourne Beauty Education and Training and is not guaranteed.

 

Where an alternative date is offered, an administration fee may apply.

5. Course Manual

 

Where applicable, a course manual will be sent before your training date.

 

It is the student’s responsibility to read the manual in full before attending.

 

Throughout the training day you will be asked theory questions relating to the course manual to assess your understanding before and during the practical element of the course.

 

Failure to read the manual may affect your progress and assessment.

 

All course manuals, training materials and supporting documents remain the intellectual property of Bourne Beauty Education and Training.

 

They must not be copied, photographed, reproduced, distributed, shared or used for teaching purposes without prior written permission.

6. Student Responsibilities

​

Students are expected to arrive fully prepared for training.

​

This includes:

• Reading the course manual before attending.

• Bringing any items requested before the course.

• Wearing suitable clothing.

• Arriving on time.

• Providing a suitable model where required.

• Following all health and safety procedures.

Failure to meet these requirements may affect your training or assessment.

7. Models

 

Unless otherwise advised, students are responsible for providing a suitable model for the practical element of the course.

 

Models must:

• Arrive on time.

• Be available for the required treatment time.

• Meet any treatment requirements advised before the course.

• Be suitable for the treatment being carried out.

 

If you require Bourne Beauty Education and Training to assist with sourcing a model, you must notify me as soon as possible before your training date. Whilst every effort will be made to help, this cannot be guaranteed.

If a suitable model is not available, Bourne Beauty Education and Training reserves the right to amend, postpone or reschedule the practical element of the course.

​

8. Arrival

 

Please arrive promptly for your training.

 

Late arrival may reduce your practical training time.

 

Excessive lateness may result in your course being cancelled and your booking fee forfeited.

 

9. Course Duration

 

Course durations advertised on the website are intended as a guide only.

 

As all training is delivered on a 1:2:1 basis, every student learns at a different pace.

 

Depending on previous experience, confidence and ability, your training may take more or less time than advertised.

 

Bourne Beauty Education and Training will always provide the support required to help students achieve the required standard wherever reasonably possible.

 

10. Professional Standards

 

Students are expected to behave professionally at all times.

 

This includes:

• Respecting the educator.

• Respecting the training environment.

• Following all health and safety procedures.

• Following infection prevention and hygiene procedures.

• Treating all equipment and products with care.

 

Any abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour may result in the student being asked to leave without refund.

 

Students attending under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to train.

 

11. Assessments & Certification

 

Certificates are awarded only when the required level of competence has been demonstrated.

 

Students may be required to complete:

• Theory assessments.

• Practical assessments.

• Verbal questioning.

• Observation throughout the course.

 

Attendance alone does not guarantee certification.

 

12. Accreditation

 

Where applicable, courses are ABT Accredited (Associated Beauty Therapists) and are designed to meet the standards required by ABT.

 

Certificates will only be issued once all course requirements have been successfully completed and the required level of competency has been demonstrated.

 

This may include successful completion of:

• Theory assessments.

• Practical assessments.

• Verbal questioning.

• Case studies (where applicable).

• Portfolio work (where applicable)

• Virtual Assessments (where applicable)

 

If further evidence of competency is required, Bourne Beauty Education and Training reserves the right to request additional practical work, case studies or further assessments before an ABT Accredited certificate is issued.

Attendance alone does not guarantee certification.

 

13. After Your Course

 

Learning does not end when your training finishes.

 

Bourne Beauty Education and Training is committed to supporting every student after they have completed their course. Students are welcome to contact me if they require guidance, clarification or support relating to the techniques, treatments or course content covered during their training.

​

My aim is for every student to leave feeling confident, supported and equipped with the knowledge and skills to continue developing after their course.

​

Please note that post-course support relates to the training received. Ongoing business mentoring, marketing advice, pricing guidance, social media management or general business coaching is not included as part of your training course.

 

14. Products

​

Bourne Beauty Education and Training provides a brand-neutral learning environment.

​

Students are welcome to use the professional products and equipment provided during training, giving you the opportunity to try before you buy before investing in your own kit.

 

Training focuses on techniques, product knowledge and professional standards rather than promoting one specific brand, enabling students to confidently work with a variety of professional products throughout their career.

 

15. Practice After Training

​

Receiving your certificate confirms that you have demonstrated competence during your assessment.

​

However, confidence and speed come with continued practice.

 

Bourne Beauty Education and Training recommends completing additional practice before offering treatments to paying clients.

 

16. Photography & Marketing

​

Photographs and videos may be taken during training for use on our website and social media.

​

If you do not wish to appear in photographs or videos, please inform your educator before training begins.

​​

17. Liability

​

Students attend training at their own risk.

 

Bourne Beauty Education and Training accepts no responsibility for the loss, theft or damage of personal belongings.

 

Students are responsible for obtaining appropriate insurance before carrying out treatments on members of the public.

 

18. Force Majeure

 

Bourne Beauty Education and Training shall not be held responsible for any delay, cancellation or inability to deliver training due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, power failures, government restrictions, pandemics, illness, accidents, family emergencies or any other unforeseen event.

 

Where possible, an alternative training date will be offered.

 

Bourne Beauty Education and Training shall not be liable for any travel expenses, accommodation costs, loss of earnings or any other direct, indirect or consequential losses incurred by the student.

 

19. Illness

 

If you are suffering from a contagious illness or any condition that may place others at risk, please contact Bourne Beauty Education and Training before attending.

 

Any decision to reschedule your training due to illness is entirely at the discretion of Bourne Beauty Education and Training.

 

20. Cancellation by Bourne Beauty Education and Training

 

In the unlikely event that Bourne Beauty Education and Training needs to cancel or postpone a course due to unforeseen circumstances, including illness, family emergency or circumstances beyond our reasonable control, an alternative training date will be offered.

 

Bourne Beauty Education and Training shall not be liable for travel expenses, accommodation costs, loss of earnings or any other associated costs incurred by the student.

Bourne Beauty Education and Training is owned and delivered by Maria Bourne, a fully qualified, insured and experienced Nail & Beauty Educator.

​

I offer high-quality 1:2:1 ABT Accredited training in a relaxed, friendly and supportive learning environment.

​

Every course is delivered personally by me, ensuring each student receives individual attention, hands-on practical experience and continued support after their training has finished.

​

My passion is helping students build confidence, develop professional skills and succeed within the nail and beauty industry.

​

As a brand-neutral educator, I focus on teaching techniques rather than promoting a particular product range, giving students the confidence to work with the professional brands that best suit them.

22. Acceptance of Terms

​

By paying your booking fee you confirm that:

• You have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

• You understand your booking fee is strictly non-refundable and non-transferable.

• You understand that attendance alone does not guarantee certification.

• You agree to complete any required theory and practical assessments.

• You agree to read the course manual in full before attending your training.

• You agree to provide a suitable model where required.

• You understand that advertised course durations are intended as a guide only and may vary according to individual learning needs.

• You agree to follow all instructions, health and safety procedures and professional standards provided by Bourne Beauty Education and Training throughout your course.

 

23. Changes to Terms & Conditions

 

Bourne Beauty Education and Training reserves the right to amend or update these Terms & Conditions at any time.

 

The latest version will always be available on our website and will apply to all future bookings.

26. Website, Online Bookings & Prerequisites

​

Bookings made through the Bourne Beauty Education and Training website are subject to these Terms & Conditions.

 

By purchasing a course through the website, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions before completing your purchase.

​

It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that all booking information and contact details provided are accurate and up to date.

​

It is also the student’s responsibility to ensure that they meet all pre-requisite requirements before booking a course.

 

Unless otherwise stated:

• A recognised Manicure qualification is a mandatory pre-requisite for all nail training courses, with the exception of Nail Art courses.

• If you intend to carry out treatments on toes, a recognised Pedicure qualification is also required before undertaking any toenail training.

• Students who do not hold the required pre-requisites should not book onto a course until these qualifications have been obtained.

​

Failure to hold the required pre-requisites may invalidate your professional insurance and may affect your ability to obtain insurance cover.

​

It is the student’s sole responsibility to check with their chosen insurance provider that:

• They meet all pre-requisite requirements.

• Their insurer accepts ABT Accredited training.

• The qualification obtained will provide the level of insurance cover they require.

​

Bourne Beauty Education and Training accepts no responsibility if a student is unable to obtain professional insurance due to not meeting the required pre-requisites or because their chosen insurer does not recognise or accept the qualification obtained.

 

If it becomes apparent that a student does not meet the required pre-requisites after booking, Bourne Beauty Education and Training reserves the right to refuse admission to the course.

 

In these circumstances, the booking fee will remain non-refundable and non-transferable in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.

Bourne Beauty Education and Training also reserves the right to refuse, cancel or postpone a booking where false, misleading or incomplete information has been provided during the booking process.

 

27. Student Declaration

​

By booking a course with Bourne Beauty Education and Training, you confirm that:

• You have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions in full.

• You meet all of the stated pre-requisite requirements for the course you have booked.

• Where a recognised Manicure qualification is required, you hold either a recognised Manicure qualification or an equivalent qualification accepted by Bourne Beauty Education and Training.

• Where a recognised Pedicure qualification is required, you hold either a recognised Pedicure qualification or an equivalent qualification accepted by Bourne Beauty Education and Training.

• All information you have provided during the booking process is true, accurate and complete.

• You have disclosed any medical conditions, disabilities or learning requirements that may affect your training, allowing Bourne Beauty Education and Training to consider reasonable adjustments where appropriate.

• You understand that it is your responsibility to ensure you hold the required pre-requisite qualifications before attending your course.

• You understand that it is your responsibility to check with your chosen insurance provider that they accept ABT Accredited qualifications and that you will be eligible for professional insurance upon successful completion of the course.

• You understand that failure to hold the required pre-requisite qualifications may invalidate your insurance or prevent you from obtaining professional insurance.

• You understand that Bourne Beauty Education and Training cannot guarantee acceptance by every insurance provider, employment, self-employment opportunities or business success following completion of any course.

• You agree to complete any required theory work, practical assessments, case studies or portfolio work (where applicable) before certification can be issued.

• You understand that continued practice and ongoing professional development are essential to building confidence, speed and competence following your training.

• You agree to conduct yourself in a professional manner throughout your training and to follow all instructions given by your educator.

• You understand that Bourne Beauty Education and Training reserves the right to refuse admission to, or terminate, a course without refund where these Terms & Conditions are breached or where your behaviour is deemed inappropriate, unsafe or disruptive to the learning environment.

 

28. Student Feedback

At the end of your training course, you will be asked to complete a student feedback form.

 

Your feedback is extremely valuable and helps Bourne Beauty Education and Training to continually review, improve and maintain the highest standards of education, training and customer service.

Any comments, suggestions or recommendations are welcomed and are used to enhance the learning experience for future students.
